Why couples choose to elope.
Every couple has a different reason. Some want a quiet day with no pressure. Some dream of saying their vows somewhere surrounded by nature. Some simply want to spend their wedding celebrating instead of following a timeline created for everyone else. There isn't one right reason to elope. There is only the reason that feels right to you.
What is an elopement?
An elopement isn't about running away.
It's about slowing down. About creating a wedding day that feels like the two of you, without feeling like you have to follow traditions just because that's how it's always been done.
For some couples, that means exchanging vows on a mountain at sunrise. For others, it's wandering through the streets of Rome, sharing a quiet dinner in Tuscany, or watching the sunset by the sea on the Amalfi Coast.
There's no right way to elope.
An elopement can be just the two of you, or it can include your closest family and friends. It can last a few hours or become a whole weekend of celebrating. It can be adventurous, relaxed, elegant, or incredibly simple.
What matters isn't where you are or how many people are there. It's creating a day that feels true to you. One where you have the time to slow down, take it all in, and enjoy every part of it without feeling rushed.
For me, that's what an elopement is. Not a smaller wedding.
